Niger condemns APC’s over Aliyu comments

The Niger State Government has described All People Congress harsh and poorly-thought-out criticism of the Babangida Aliyu-led Peoples Democratic Party Government in the state as cheap blackmail.
Reacting to APC’s claim that most of the bond projects executed by the current administration were substandard, the Commissioner of Information, Communications and Strategy, Danladi Ndayebo on Tuesday expressed surprise that the opposition party “delved into an area it clearly has little or no knowledge about.”
In a statement by Ndayebo, made available to journalists in Minna, he said, “It is amazing that a party that claims to have a blow-by-blow account of the goings on in government does not know that the state government has since paid up the N6bn bond it took to finance some important projects in the state.
“Whether APC likes it or not, the Aliyu-led PDP government in the state has done more than any previous government in the state, emphasizing that there are landmark achievements of the current administration that are difficult to ignore.”
On roads alone, the state government cited the massive reconstruction of all the major roads in the state capital, Bida and Kontagora.
It also drew attention to Kutigi – Fazhi road, rehabilitation of Minna industrial layout road network, Batati-Dabban road, Luma-Babana Road, Bonu-Gurara Waterfalls; Mokwa-Raba road, Birigi-Lapai Gwari, Lapai-Gulu- Muye road and several others make APC’s claim on the state of infrastructure in the state untenable.
Ndayebo asked the APC to perish the belief that good governance is only possible when opposition wins election in the state.
